April 27, 2026 marked 65 years since Sierra Leone's independence in 1961. SALDAC celebrated two days early, on Saturday, April 25, with the SALONE@65 Independence Party at Winston Heights-Mountview Community Association.

Tickets were $50 for adults, $25 for teens aged 12 to 18, and free for children 11 and under, so whole families could come.

The Independence Celebration is SALDAC's main event every year. Join the SALDAC Calgary Facebook group to hear first about next year's date.
